Dear author
Thank you for your writing.
I hadn't know that I could read books written in English
until I had read your book, "Mary, Queen Of Scots".
I'd leaned English for 12 years at school.
But I hadn't read books written in English.
I had a very deep impression from your book.
Because I could understand the story
although the story was written in English.
I had a great thankful feeling for Graded Readers.
Yours sincerely
I wasn't interested in Scottish history unitl I met this book.
The book gave me an enjoyment in reading historical novels.
Thank you.

When I read your work "Heiji", I was moved and tears fell from my eyes time after time.
I imagined the scenes vividly as if they were there front of me.
I want to read original story some day. I say thank-you for your good work!
---< from Kian >------------
Dear sir
When I was reading the book I smelt of cheese, milk and bread.
And I was really keen to sleep in a bed in hay.
Thank you for giving me the feelings!
Sincerely,
Heidi is one of the most popular story in Japan.
The book moved me to tear again, though I know whole story.
I am please to be impressed by Heidi in English.
Thank you.

UNCLE ELEPHANT(An I Can Read Book Level 2)
======================================================
---< from Paulownia = 桐 >------------
Thank you for your stories.I also like your other stories ,but really love this "UNCLE ELEPHANT" best of all.
In the story, at the last, Uncle says "I was counting days".These simple words moved me silently and deeply.
I am so happy to know such a short but warm story written in such easy English.

Matilda(Puffin Books )
======================================================
---< from Shio = しお >------------
M any foreign books I had read before graduated from a college, but
A ll of them were translated ones.
T hey were good and I loved many of them, but
I wished I could read the very words the authors wrote.
L ong time passed since then, and finally I read your books in English last year.
D ear Mr.Dahl, “Matilda” is my special favorite!
A dmiring her brilliance, I enjoyed every bits of the story.
I was absorbed in the story before I read through the first chapter.
Matilda borrowed a lot of books from the library and read them
in the empty house with a hot drink. That is my favorite part
because it reminds me of the great joy of reading when I was a child.
I still love reading , but not with such a strong feeling.
I also love the last part of the story where Miss Honey hugged Matilda.
I hope (and I am sure) that they lived happily ever after.
Thanks so much for giving me a wonderful time.

---< from banana = バナナ >------------
Dear Mr. Vicary
I have read a handred of graded books.
One of most interesting and exciting booksis
your "The coldest Place On Earth".
I had read graded books mainly for learning english before it.
But your book told me, "Books are books.Reading good story is fun.
In English or in Japanese, it's same."
Now I can enjoy English books!
I thank you that you wrote that book.
And I hope you will continue to write many books!
Graded Readers are not always exciting for me.
Graded Readers are not always interesting for me.
And also Graded Readers are not always fascinating for me.
But all your works are always very exciting, very interesting, and very fascinating!
I'm super happy because your books gave me a hope and light up my life , thank you very very mutch !
I haven't expected Graded Books to be fun, though
This book betrayed me and I enjoyed a lot.
The book in English made my day.
Thank you.
I like your books.
Can I read English book? I thought.
But your book interesting and exciting!!
And I could read English book!
Two month ago,I could not read English book.
But now,I can read English book!
Thank you very much.
---< from Enne = 円 >------------
Dear Mr.Vicary.
How do you do.
Actually, I didn't like to study English when I was a student.
My English score was too bad.
But I have studied English again, since about one year and a half.
Because my daughter's English score was down, so we decided to study
English together.
One day I met SSS, and we started to read many Graded Readers.
And I met the book, Pocahontas, written by you.
It hit me! How wonderful! I loved it.
It taught me "English isn't score. It's one language."
So I would like to say to you "Thank you very much. I love English now,
because of you."
Dear Mr. Vicary
I have never read books in English.
When I was a student I learned English many many times.
But I can't speak English.
So I did'nt think I could read them.
But I saw SSS,I tried to read them.
A month ago, your "The coldest Place On Earth" was a long story for me.
But it was very interesting. And I was surprised.
Your book told me,"You can read books in English!"
I was so happy. And I want read English books more and more.
I want to tell you "thank you very much!"
